The spanish soprano Maria del Mar Humanes, born in Barcelona, made in the last season her debut on the german opera stage as Titania in the Fairy Queen (H. Purcell), a production that lead her to an engagement at the Aalto-Theater Essen in the season 2018-19 as Musetta in La Bohème and Erste Dame in Die Zauberflöte.
Praised for ther abundant musicality, freshnes and young shinning voice, Ms. Humanes began her vocal education with soprano Maria Teresa Garrigosa, and in parallel did her University Diploma in Onchologic-Nurse. Later on, she moved to The Nederlands to received vocal coaching by Prof. Peter Harrison, and currently Maria del Mar resides in Germany where she finishes her Master in Voice-Opera Performance at the Folkwang University of the Arts with Prof. Rachel Robins.
Winner of Conchita Badia Contest 2014, Camerata Sant Cugat XIII in 2016, finalist in several international constests, Maria del Mar made her operatic debut in the world première of the opera “Medea” by Tania Sikelianou at the National Theater Institute of the Netherlands (Amsterdam), where she also collaborated at the Netherlands National Opera Accademy and at the Dutch National Opera. She belonged to OperaStudio Madrid and also the Barcelona OperaStudio. Notable engagements from last seasons include Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro and Zerlina in Don Giovanni by Mozart, Lucy in the opera of Kurt Weil Driegröschenopern, Frasquita in Carmen by G.Bizet, Amor and Euridice in Orfeo by C.W.Gluck, Cleopatra in Giulio Cesare and Morgana in Alcina by G.F.Händel, Oscar in Un Ballo in Maschera by G.Verdi… Among her oratorio repertoire she has sung Vivaldi‘s Gloria, the St. Matthew Passion by J.S.Bach, Mozart’s Requiem and Coronation Mass, Mendelssohn’s Lobegesang, Stabat Mater by Pergolesi and Rossini, Messiah by G.F. Händel, Die Schöpfung by J.Haydn…
Maria del mar is also a passionate and committed recitalist and chamber musician, having a stable Lied Duo with pianist Maxim Shamo (Duo Aedea), that follows artistic guidance of Prof. Helmut Deutsch. With upcoming recitals in Spain, Italy, Germany, Portugal and The Netherlands… This duo belonged in season 2016-2017 to the young artist program International Udo Reinemann Masterclasses on the Art of Lied in Belgium, and was sellected in the 100th Aniversary of Mozarteum Sommerakademie within the Duo Aedea as emerging artists in ArtSong.
Ms. Humanes has also in her season 2018-2019 the CD production “Un Paseo por los Jardines de España”, dedicated to the Spanish Art Song in the “ARS Produktion Label”.
